        By reading “What is Pop Culture?”, I know pop culture means common people prefer. It is not for the educated and financially privileged. Pop culture includes objects, people, events and places. I know what is different between fads and trends. Fads mean popular for a short time. Trends mean popular for a long time until now. My Aha moment was fads. I didn’t know the word before. When I did the project that found two fads, I always thought it meant popular for a period, but I didn’t know what was different with trends. One of the fads I found was Smurfs. I heard other people’s presentations. When I f inished my presentation, I knew Smurfs was not a fad. I knew the fad’s meaning at that time. I know culture will change in the future. It can be fixed. When I learn pop culture, I should figure out the meaning and study the deeper meaning.       I chose  Melanie Perkins from Time Magazine. She was born in Perth, Western Australia. She is one of the youngest female CEOs and a co-founder of Canva and owns 18% of the company. Also, she is one of the world's "Top Under 30 of the Decade". Her idea was to make a design platform that didn't require technical experience when she was in university. The Canva was built in 2013. She has two plans. First, built one of the world's most valuable companies. Next, do as much good in the world as people. She was considered by Time Magazine because she gave the world the power of design. She wants to help design anything. The Canva helps to make the design widely available. The trend is that there is growing demand for the Canva she created.

I read an article Mass Media: Hatred of American Labor? It was written by Norman Solomon on September 2, 1999. The article talks about there may be a bias in the media against labor. The media thought that labor would break the country. They thought organized labor were uncontrollable. Entrepreneurs had a contempt for labor. They cannot balance labor and entrepreneurs. American labor was largely excluded from the mass media. .I think the media is not correct. They have always been biased against labor. Audiences cannot see the efforts of labor. The media should provide balanced and comprehensive coverage。 We can't look at the problem in charge.We should look at the problem comprehensively。

  I prepared a person and two TV shows. I learned who was famous in the 70s and why she was famous.Her name is Jane Fonda I know about her story. I know she was not only an actress but also an activist. She fought with climate change when she wasn’t acting. By researching the TV shows, I know Marrus Welby and Happy Days were very popular in the 1970s. Marrus Welby talked about the professional conflict between well-meaning doctors. Happy Days showed an idealized life.

I choose Shereen EI Feki: Pop culture in the Arab world. It told about Barbie and Fulla are in different culture. If contract them, it will be pretty. People who in the Arab region study Western innovations and changing them into things. One example is 4Shbab. It is different the old music. It showed a kinder, gentler, face of Islam for young people. The second is called “The 99”. The character means 99 attributes of Allah. They both have long history, and they adapted from other civilizations. This video makes me know different culture can blend together. They can change and adapt other civilizations. They learned Western innovation is very good. It can inspire young people, but blind plagiarism will become not traditional. I think they should keep something traditional. Otherwise, the traditional will disappear in this world.
